Weird West is a top-down immersive sim announced by some Arkane veterans


The gunsmoke and ghouls of the wicky-wicky wah wah weird unusual west are the setting for the debut recreation from a studio established by some Arkane veterans, announced tonight at The Activity Awards. It is named simply just Unusual West and of course, it is bold to yoink an set up fiction genre’s name for your activity. Unusual West is an immersive sim-y motion-RPG environment out for adventures comprehensive of rootin’, tootin’, and spookin’. Have a peek in the trailer beneath.

It is made by WolfEye Studios, a new crew founded by two fellas from Prey and Dishonored devs Arkane: extended-time artistic director Raphael Colantonio and previous govt producer Julien Roby.

Aspects are slim for now but publishers Devolver Digital contact it an immersive sim and blast this blurb:

“Discover a dark fantasy reimagining of the Wild West where lawmen and gunslingers share the frontier with fantastical creatures. Journey by way of the origin stories of a team of atypical heroes, penned into legend by the decisions you make in an unforgiving land. Each journey is exceptional and tailored to the steps taken – a series of substantial stakes stories wherever anything counts and the earth reacts to the selections you make. Variety a posse or enterprise forth on your own into an otherworldly confines of the Bizarre West and make each individual legend your individual.”

So it appears like a roguelikelike action-RPG? It is obtained an overworld map and all:

And contacting it an immersive sim implies astonishing prospects and behaviours to discover enjoy with? I’m listening.

No term on a launch date but but it’s coming to Steam.
