Multiple New Jersey officers wounded in shootout, one in critical condition – NBC News


A law enforcement officer, a few civilians and two suspects were killed Tuesday afternoon in the course of a shootout and standoff in Jersey Town, New Jersey, authorities claimed.

The lethal mayhem started out when the slain officer was investigating a murder and approached two suspects — when a person of them opened hearth, capturing the officer in the head and killing him, law enforcement sources told NBC News.

The two suspects then fled in a rental van and holed up in a grocery retailer a couple of blocks away, around Martin Luther King Travel and Bidwell Avenue, about 8 miles southwest of Midtown Manhattan in New York City, legislation enforcement sources claimed.
